I'm having a problem getting my head wraped around the KL Box reticle. I didn't see a link for EP8 manual (scope not purched yet). Does anyone know where I can find a " monkey see, mokey do" type diagram?
For the Arken boys: Any plans for an MRAD reticle and turrets for the EP8? While not necessary,it would be nice. I am currantly using a VCOG on one of Rifles and am slowly tring to switch over to mils on all of scopes.
If there's a mil option, I would be interested, even more so if it's a mil grid or Xmas tree.
I love the FOV and feel of the scope, but I hate moa and the klbox reticle. I had mine out over the weekend and was able to shoot out to 500yd with it, using m193 and 16" AR, but it was not fast or intuitive, which is the whole point of a BDC reticle... I found the klbox too busy and the aiming dots too fine once I got past 300 yards. I would love it if they kept the dot/doughnut and put a mil grid/xmas tree below it. Do that and switch the turrets to MRAD, and I'll buy 2 more. The big outer ring I could take or leave, personally, I would tend towards some nice fat cross hair type lines as I think they're more useful as magnification increases, but it's not a deal breaker.
As it is, my current EP8 will live out it's days on my son's rifle since he doesn't care about mil vs moa, and probably won't shoot it past 300yd, if he shoots it that far...
Thanks for the reply DK. I havn't had a chance to take a hard look yet. Too busy faling out of love with my SFAR.
It is good that Arken post the product manual on FB, which I really appreciuated. TwoYoutuber start posting their EP8, but none really talk about details of the scope and more like advertising...
Dear Arken, I know your KL Box might be design by "expert" but does the proportion of dots make sense for you at all? I understand the center is 50/200 zero. your fisrt dot is 400 and 2nd dot is 500....etc. The bullet drop height cannot line up between 200 to 400. Supportly somewhere in the "middle" is your 300 yard. BUT, the bullet drop between 400 to 500 if you multiple by 2 still smaller than between 200 to 400 yards down. More I wait, the more I am worry about this scope to be honest....
YOUR BULLET DROPS DOTS ARE WAY OFF. IT IS A SIMPLE MATH!
Here is what we have for the manual. Hope this helps!

My desire fo a Mil version is not quite as complex as all of that. I would just like to have turrets and the KL box setup for Mil's . As far as ilumination goes,I would love to see some models set to use AA batteries. Should there ever come a time that batteries are hard to come by, AA's will be easyer to find.
Nothing new about a fiberoptic rod in a combat optic. I carried a ACOG for a year in Iraq that had a fiberoptic rod on top that iluminated the chevron during daylight. At night the chevron was iluminated by trinium.
I would imagine that MRAD for EP-8 would only be useful once there's a christmas tree reticle option.
Why make a different SKU for the KLBox? Honestly? 2x as many items to manufacture and stock AND warranty/support?!?
My biggest complaint about some MFGs is having too many SKUs because it complicates their support and logistics.
One of the most important things for me in an LVPO is daylight visibility of the illumination.
Honestly, i know the concept in LVPO's is new but the Primary arms Nova is a great idea, having a fiber rod to light up the center in SFP, I believe March Optics does something similar with a hybrid FFP/SFP reticles, the main reticle is FFP while the fiber illumination for the center dot is fiber so that it doesn't expand when you zoom in.
That way, the reticle expands but the dot is always small and the same size. They also have THICK bars at the 3/6/9 positions in SFP that STAY the same position as you zoom in, although I'm not sure this is absolutely needed.
March D10SV24FDIML crazy name, i know. https://marchscopes.com/scopes/d10sv24fdiml/
If you had a fiber dot with a MIL Christmas tree reticle in FFP?!? OMG
I don't think we need illumination on the rest, just a dot in the center. I would also recommend Lines on the edges pointing inward (but not too intrusive) to guide the eye to the center in case illumination isn't working, and a very small etched crosshair/chevron, that would normally be covered by the illuminated dot.
Maybe something like the PA PLX but without the horseshoe and the lines on either side (image is at the 1x magnification)
For reference, here is the March optics reticle. Notice that the THICK bars at 3,6,9 oclock stay the same size/position, no matter the magnification. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHXIuRjmTEk
The manual is getting close. Stay tuned to the website for updates. There is talks of adding reticle options, but I don't know how close they are. Hopefully soon!
