Book says to 50, but once you have it to 50, you should zero it at 200 for finier accuracy. Arken also goes into compensating the BDC based on the round you are using and the standard MOA numbers they have the optic set for versus what you have actually using a data set / software. For instance, my offset using 62 gr green tip at 800 yards is 2.2 add. so in order for the BDC to work for me, I have to add in 2.2 moa on the dial for the BDC to be accurate at 800 yards. Coincidently, it was only .2 MOA off for 600 yards which makes me believe it would be good for everything 600 and lower.

For the EP8, you should be setting your zero at 50 yards. This will also have your battel zero for 200 yards.
