I read a previous post on this but it is still unclear. This is how my scope arrived. Do I start by bore sighting it as it is or do I need to move these turrets to something else? If something else, then what? Thank you.

Secure your rifle in a stable position (like a big tower tiny square bench rest). If you have a bolt-action rifle, remove the bolt and look down the bore at your target. Adjust the rifle until the bore is aligned with the target.
I back out the Zero stop. Run the turret to the bottom then all the way to the top be sure to count how many turns or MOA/MIL's. Divide by 2 and run the turret down that much. Your scope is now zeroed to itself. Now if you have a mount with MOA built in like 20MOA dial down 20 MOA. When the scope is mounted the scope and the barrel will be parallel to each other. Now dial up 5-6 MOA to account for the 100 yard zero (does not matter the caliber). Shoot one round at a 25 yard target. Use the reticle to measure how much MOA/MIL it takes to be 1.5" low and make adjustments. Take second shot and you should hit directly below the bullseye 1.5". Take one shot at 100 yards and measure how far off in MOA/MIL you're off for elevation and windage you are and make adjustment. Next shot should be dead on bullseye. Four rounds total for a zero. If you and your rifle can't shoot 1/2" groups or better at 100 yards substitute a 3 or 5 round group in place of the 4th shot and use the center of your group for the final adjustment. Now you can zero the turret and set the zero stop. This works every time all the time and save tons of ammo.
Make sure the zero stop set and lock screws are loose. Bore sight the rifle, and establish your rifle zero with the turrets. Lock the turret in place with the 0 on it's mark. Then click up 3-4 clicks, and set the zero stop set screw. Screw it in until it touches the base. Back that screw out 1/2 turn, the lock it in place with the lock screw. You can then set your turret with the zero stop on 0. You should be good to go!
