I have a SH4 6-24 and with my old eyes have a hard time seeing the reticle below about 14X. I shoot NRL22 and normally have to run about 16X to see my holdovers. Is the SH4 4-16 reticle scaled differently? Would 16X on the 6-24 reticle equal maybe 10 or 12X on the 4-16 reticle? At 16X I have a reduced field of view which makes for harder target acquisition.
Thanks Steve
The reticles are the same. Since they are both FFP, the reticle size stays the same relative to the magnification. However, the 6-24 has more power range, and therefore a bit less field of view at that same power. So my recommendation for NRL22, would be to utilize the 4-16 version, which also allows for more vertical travel as well for distance.
